Limitless Ltd on DIY SOS
This DIY SOS project was the largest project the team had undertaken to date. The background story to this wonderful, inspiring family is: “Scott and Jenny Watts got together when they were 16-year-old. Twenty-two years and three boys later, they are now a family of five. Charlie, their third son, was born with severe disabilities”.
The DIY SOS team came up with the idea of designing a ground floor, wrap around extension for their end of terrace Victorian cottage. This would provide all the extra space that was needed for this family and especially for Charlie’s care. However, this large extension meant that the kitchen and the new downstairs bathroom would be dark and without any natural light.
Bringing Daylight to a Family Extension
Limitless Ltd especially created two Light Shafts that would project a lot of daylight into these two rooms providing a lovely bright and airy feel. The kitchen Light Shaft was configured so it would provide views of the sky.
This was a tremendously satisfying project to undertake and execute, the family were so happy to have a larger home filled with a design to make living easy, relaxed and wholly suitable for Charlie.
If you missed the show you can watch it again on BBC iPlayer. It is certainly one not to miss, not a dry eye in our house.
Limitless Ltd and our products have also been featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs and an episode of Sarah Beeny’s Double Your House for Half the Money.
